Judging by the Tripadvisor reviews it looks that this place is more popular as a cheap massage parlor than the gift shopping place. Going through 200 reviews you'll find barely 10 reviews for, you know, actual gift shop.

Adorable shop with nice variety of merchandise at fair prices
Traveled with a group of friends and walked down the beautiful beach to this shop. Lots of fun souvenirs at very reasonable prices. The owner is super friendly.

A Relaxed Shopping Experience
This is a lovely shop with no pressure to buy. It's a great place for coffee, souvenirs, T shirts and larimar jewellery. We bought coffee here at a much cheaper price than the hotel shop. The only downside was that Gundula (the lovely friendly German lady who owns the place) wasn't there and we missed the chance to sit on the balcony and chat to her. She is quite happy to do that without pressurising you to make a purchase.

After so many years, it's finally time...
We have been travelling to Uvero Alto for years. Actually I think we would be considered regulars at EPC. For the last several years we make the 40 minute beach walk to Gundula's Tropical Treasure (and Sandy Feet Beach Bar) as often as we can. There is always a friendly smile and a cold Presidente waiting.
The no pressure shopping experience along with quality goods and services is a nice relief from what is the usual Dominican retail environment. Do yourself a favor and escape the confines of your local resort and enjoy everything this place has to offer

Excellent Shopping Experience
Short walk on the beach from Excellence El Carmen. Facing the ocean from resort on the beach walk walk right, pass damaged White House, keep on going past the pushy shops. They will tell you anything and use cute little puppies to get you in shops. You will also pass another resort with a cute beach swing. (Great Photo Op) Will post that later.
Then you should see Tropical Treasures. They have multiple different flags hanging also a trip advisor sign. Go up either set of wooden staircase and you have reached TT from Excellence El Carmen. Prices are set. You do not feel you are being ripped off. I saw same dress for 23 USD that the excellence gift shop was selling for 83 USD. The other items were nicely displayed and clean. The man that was there running the shop that day was very honest and up front about items that could not be taken into USA.
Most other sellers would have sold product just to make a sale. I highly recommend tropical treasures for shopping. The dogs running around were super cute and well cared for. I would have considered a massage at this location but ran out of time.

Truly a Treasure
First visit to Tropical Treasure this year. I had read so many great reviews that I knew we had to check it out. We went to purchase souvenirs for our family. There is a wide selection and no one hassles you while you shop. The owner, Gundula, is super nice! We loved meeting and talking with her.
Her dogs were so cute and playful. What a life! They are spoiled rotten... meals ordered daily, running and playing in the waves on the beach, and taking naps under the palm trees. :) We didn’t get to enjoy the massages or other great amenities, but I heard rave reviews from several other customers. Can’t wait to visit Gundula and her shop again!

Beach shopping
Delightful little shop on the beach a short walk from Excellence El Carmen resort. We stumbled upon this shop while strolling on the beach. What caught our eye was the TripAdvisor sign so we thought we would check it out. Cute setup with mini bar, shop, lounging area and massage tent... the shop is clean and laid out with care. There were many unique souvenirs available to choose from. We found many items that We hadn’t found in resort gift shop.
Prices were decent for most items. They even had a gentleman available to paint whatever you would like on your finds...for free! We opted to tip him for his time and effort which was appreciated but not required. We even took a little time to lounge outside their mini bar and have a cold beverage while watching the ocean waves. Wonderful experience that added a great deal to our vacation.

Tropical Treasure-a beautiful place to be
Tropical Treasure is an absolute MUST to visit when traveling to Punta Cana. The shop is filled with the most beautiful jewelry and items that the island has to offer. Gundula is so welcoming and has the biggest heart you could imagine. I am so happy to have met her, as she educated me & my family on the amazing work of Rescatame, which is an animal rescue in Punta Cana. Gundula & her team work so hard to run this beautiful shop and save the lives of the sweetest stray dogs.
When we stayed at Breathless, we visited her and the doggies every day! When we stayed at Secrets, we took a cab all the way there because a trip to Punta Cana is no longer successful without stopping by Tropical Treasure!!! When you visit, please make sure to get a relaxing massage, have a Presidente at the Sandy Beach Bar, give some love to the doggies, & bring back paintings made by Augustin (they make great gifts!!)

Very Pleased
My husband and I heard great reviews about Tropical Treasures. We decided to walk down the beach from our hotel Excellence El Carmen. It was about a 10 minute walk. There are vendors along the way that will try their hardest to get you into their shops. We walked into one and immediately felt unsafe...to the extent that we made a purchase just so we could get out of there. However, once we got to Tropical Treasures we were very pleased.
There is a wide selection of souvenir type merchandise. We were greated warmly and never were pressured into buying anything. We spent about 20 minutes here and found gifts for everyone on our list, plus so additional items for ourselves. Highly recommended if you want a safe, non-pushy experience.

Wonderful friendly place.
We visited Tropical Treasures while on vacation..it was the most enjoyable day! We enjoyed a 90 minute massage on the beach, pina coladas and bought a few souvenirs. We stayed several hours ..it was so relaxing. This place has it all! Biggest asset is the owner Gundula..she made our visit so special.
She treats her customers like friends. She took the time to sit on the porch and talk with us and made us feel so welcome. Tropical Treasures is worth a visit..it truly was one of the highlights of our vacation.

Wonderful Little Shop!
We adored this place! We stayed at Breathless, and this was literally right next door via the beach (you can see it from your beach chairs). The shop owner is an incredibly sweet woman who told us stories about some of the items, gave us a tour around and overall made the shopping experience very fun. She had some awesome, unique and local items, and we purchased several gifts.
The shop is also home to dogs she fosters and finds homes for. She even takes the time to cook them homemade dog food! We got to hang out with one of the dogs, a sweet girl who loved to have her belly rubbed. If you're looking for a quaint experience in a unique location, this is the place for you! We really enjoyed our time there and supporting this local business.
