Even if you are novice or 1st time fisherman, you are more than welcome to join us! Captains and guides are friendly, experienced and seasoned veterans, experts for fishing deep-water species; they will give you essential fishing tips and help around lures, rigging, rods and reels to make sure you're doing everything you can to catch your big one and leave with memorable experience.

It's fishing, not catching, but be sure in one thing: Punta Cana is prime location for fishing and fishing crew will do everything in their power to get you on your dream catch and ensure your good time on the water. Depend of season, you will have your chance of catching a magnificent Marlin (Blue Marlin, White Marlin), Mahi Mahi (Dorado), YellowFin Tuna, Barracuda, Wahoo, Sailfish, Bonito, Lumberjack and few more species common for this region.

Reeling in your catch is just part of the fun. Eating your tasty, deliciously prepared catch is another level of experience! You can eat your catch after the tour, in the beach restaurant (for a small fee)
It may be not the greatest adventure of your life, but at least you'll get for yourself few hours out from the hotel where you are stucked in. Any fishing day is better than the best day spent at work, right?

Good to know

- Fishing technique is mostly Trolling
- Private charter is just for you and your family or friends, Shared trip is among fellow anglers
- Before the tour will be explained weather & fishing conditions and given safety briefing
- This is Canadian owned and locally operated fishing charter company, fully licensed
- Waters can be choppy, it is very recommended to take some of remedies (dramamine, scolamine patches, ginger, etc)
- Bring some cash if you decide to take offer on "eat your catch" in local restaurant, or tip your fishing guide and captain
- Sometimes English is not perfect but they do their best, smile goes a long way

Private Charters

- Duration 4, 5 hours AM / PM, or 8 hours (all day)
- Morning tours start at 8.30 am and afternoon tours at 1.30 pm
- Lunch is included only with the full day charters (8 hours)
- Up to 12 people per boat, 6 to 7 lines in the water, you organize who and when is fishing since boat is yours

Shared Charters

- Join our 4-hour fishing tour with other clients
- Morning tours at 8.30 am / Afternoon tours at 1.30 pm
- Maximum capacity of 7 Fishermen and 3 Observers per boat
- Shared charters does NOT include food and snacks (take a good breakfast in the morning)

Included with all private and shared charters:

- Transport from your hotel and back to your hotel or accommodation in air conditioned minivans
- Drinks (beer, rum, water and soft drinks)
- One captain and one mate/guide, English + Spanish
- All necessary equipment and baits

Health and Safety

- All Captains and First Mates have First Aid and fire training, all boats are equipped with all necessary safety devices including inflatable life rafts.
- Health and Safety Procedures in place to very strict UK standards. Full liability Insurance.
- Detailed explanation of the ocean conditions prior to boarding for your comfort; Health and safety briefing given once on board.

Great fishing excursion!

This was our family's first deep sea fishing experience. We took our 14yo daughter and 11yo son. We were very impressed with the overall experience, from making the reservation to the trip itself. Jack was very responsive by email and the trip was easy to book. He contacted us a few days before our scheduled day to let us know about some rough weather and we were able to reschedule for that afternoon he emailed us. He personally came to pick us up at our hotel.

Kevin was a wonderful first mate. He let the kids do as much as possible. We only had a few bites during our half-day trip, but our son was ecstatic to reel in a barracuda. Our daughter got a little seasick and Kevin helped make sure she was as comfortable as possible. We were also impressed by our captain JJ who did his best to find areas with more fish. We would highly recommend this operation and look forward to doing it again when we return to Punta Cana.

Awesome fishing trip - cannot go wrong with the folks at Gone Fishing.

Gone Fishing takes care of it all from start to finish. Not very often will you find the attention to detail like we did with this group. Quick to answer any questions which was a refreshing change from other outfits I have used.
We had a good day fishing, landing 8 durado ( mahi-mahi ) 1 wahoo and 1 barracuda. Hooked up with a white marlin that we didnt boat and another large durado that we had all the way to the boat. Great, fun trip and would do it again in a heart beat.

Great day with an amazing team!

This was probably our best charter that we’ve been on! The crew was wonderful— so friendly, engaging & informative. We were hoping to catch a mahi, but did manage to land some barracuda... our 11 yr old reeled in a huge one!
My compliments to Jack, the owner, for running a top notch business— his crew JJ, Kevin & Jeff were great! I would highly recommend Gone Fishing for anyone looking to spend a full or half day charter with a knowledgeable and friendly team!!

Awesome time. Great crew!!!

Did a 4 hour private charter with JJ and Martin. The weather was overcast and we only caught one fish the first 2 hours, but once the sun came out we landed a 200lbs Blue Marlin. JJ was awesome as the captain helping us land it, and Martin was an unbelievable first mate with his coaching. We caught a 40lbs wahoo on our way back in. It's fishing, not catching, so we had low expectations based on the weather forecast, but landing that Blue Marlin made it a trip of a lifetime. Jack was great with his email correspondence leading up to the trip, and we had no issues with transportation back and forth. A 5* trip!!!

Great Memory

We had a 5 hr trip with Franklin and Wander this past week. We caught a Wahoo, Barracuda and a my 10 year old got his first Marlin ! On top of rigging/baiting Wander made us fresh Ceviche on board from our first catch. Awesome service ! I've been deep sea fishing a dozen times and this was one of the most memorable trips. Next time I'm in the DR I will be booking another trip with Gone Fishing.
