This place is a magical blue lagoon hidden in a cave  located in Scape Park, Cap Cana. After passing an interesting trail where you will find some of the most peculiar flora and fauna in the Caribbean, you will reach this spectacular lagoon at the foot of the 65mt high cliff. These turquoise waters have a depth of 37 meters in its deepest point.

Hoyo Azul is a perfect tourist destination for relaxing body and mind. Discover a hidden cenote and enjoy the impressive waters nature views. This exotic journey will bring you face to face with the Caribbean’s amazing eco system.

The blue hole itself is located under a cliff where if you look up you can see honeycombs in huge bee's nests. Not sure why the management doesn't remove them, there is many reports and lost review stars because of the bee stings.

You can jump into refreshingly cold, incredibly blue water. Make sure you go in the morning while the sun is still rising and the hole is illuminated by the sunlight.

This experience is short (basically just a beautiful watering hole) and usually combined with some other activity - zipline, horseback riding or some of jeep "safari" tours.

bring your own towel, and comfortable shoes for a small walk through a forest.

Beautiful and Refreshing!

After a good hike through a beautiful landscape of bromiliads and orchids, catctus and medicinal plants, which are guide informed the group about, we find ourselves in this beautiful cenote, with crystal water in a blue lagoon. The cool water was so refreshing. Amazing cave formations. Overall an excellent trip!

Fun Outing

Everything we expected from the reviews. Maybe a bit expensive compared with some of our other activities, but it fit in well with our trip and our girls really loved jumping into the beautiful cenote. Easy walk to the cenote through a rainforest path for anyone without mobility issues. There’s a platform with space to stash your belongings and life vests if you want them. We were in kind of a big group but got to spend an hour swimming. There’s a platform where you can jump in or stairs to climb down. Have your suit on before you start down the path.

The Scape Park is amazing!

This was well worth the money and a wonderful little "escape" from being on the island for a week. Our resort was great too, but I needed to get more active, see some nature and do some active fun for a day. This was perfect! Beautiful water and amazing views for a great little time away!

Unique and refreshing

Hoyo Azul is a crystal clear blue lake located in the middle of the forest in the Scape Park near Punta Cana. A short walk through the jungle will lead you there, this small hike is suitable even for children and it takes you through an orchid garden. There are facilities and drinking water available along the way. The blue hole itself is located under a cliff where if you look up you can see honeycombs in huge bees' nests.

The water is clear blue and about 12 m deep, it is fresh water and slightly chilly, yet very refreshing. You can jump or dive there from a platform or walk down steps and pictures are also taken. Lifejackets are available for those who are unable to swim or prefer wearing a life vest. You can also see animals (boas, monkeys, parrots) at the entrance of the park just before the excursion starts. The guides were super friendly as well.

Fun Experience - Check it out

My wife and I were only in the Dominican republic for 4.5 days. We mainly wanted to kick our feet up and relax. This was the only excursion that we did. We paid for our tickets at our resort. Scape Park has buses that go to all of the resorts to pick individuals us. The bus was on time. It was only about a 10 minute ride from our resort (Secrets Cap Cana). Scape park is located in cap Cana, this is definitely a benefit if you are staying in that community.

We only chose to visit the Blue Hole while at Scape Park. The walk there did not even take 30 minutes, including three stops along the way. I wore flip-flops and that was not a problem either. The water is just as blue and beautiful as seen in photos. The only people there were our group (20-30). The water was cold but not freezing. They have photographers who tagalong if you want to purchase their photos afterwards.

There are signs everywhere that say no phones and no go pros but they allow you to use them, at least at the blue hole. We took lots of photos and videos on her own but we still purchase their pictures as they were taken with a much higher quality camera. All in all we definitely enjoyed this unique experience and would recommend it.

Beautifully Amazing Experience!

Visited here as part of the Juanillo VIP excursion. A short walk into the jungle leads you to this natural wonder. You can swim here and they have a platform for jumping into the cenote. The water here is an absolutely amazing blue pool of water. Watch the bees here , I got stung but didn’t seem to notice as I was enjoying the experience.

A must visit when visiting Punta Cana in The Dominican Republic...clear water

A must see/visit when traveling to Punta Cana in The Dominican Republic. You can do many things at Scape Park or just one of the many things. We just did the Hoyo Azul and we are so glad we did. You will hike a little bit and climb some stairs. When you get to the crystal clear water it will all be worth it.

The water is deep. Maybe 40 ft deep, so more worries about jumping or diving it. The water is cold at first but you will be accustom to it soon. The pictures do not do it justice. Don't miss this opportunity to go to this amazing clear water.

Girls trip

This is one of the prettiest places I have ever seen. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. You take a short hike into a gorge, and then you are in this amazing cave with this electric blue water that does not look real. To the right you can jump into it, to the left you can walk in. You're there for about an hour so you can jump in multiple times or just bathe in the mineral water. Spectacular sight to see!
